The IDL combines traditional studio art education with the expanding workforce technology program at NWACC. An open plan with a central gallery allows for all students to converge at the heart of the Lab to review and collaborate.
The main corridor doubles as an active gallery space and central pin-up area for reviews and presentations. A custom wood ceiling at the intersection of construction and art brings both disciplines together.
The exterior fabrication space allows for year round design and fabrication for both construction disciplines and sculpture.
Sliding and overhead doors provide access from the exterior directly to the heart of the building for ease of movement and connectivity.
